Carolyn Faye Pinkston, 82, a resident of Sterling, Kansas, passed into eternity on Saturday, August 21st, 2021 in Wichita, KS. Carolyn was born January 18th, 1939 in Okfuskee County to Lila Bell (Goff) and James Eunis Farris.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Betty Jane Braken, Cleo Maxine Dunham, Mary Jo Morrison and two brothers: James Raymond "Porter" Farris and Michael Farris.
Carolyn grew up in Okemah with eight siblings. she married and moved to Altus, OK and on to Eugene OR where she had her first baby Laurie. She moved to Portland OR where her son Anthony was born. Carolyn was a stay at home mom before moving to Vancouver, WA where she worked at Layton Creations, Inc. selling swimwear. She held several different positions, but her most notable was working for the Port of Vancouver where she worked as a gofer transporting people and packages to and from the Port to the Airport. Unknown to Carolyn at the time was that the many packages she transported were large amounts of cash! She then worked at her daughter's school until moving to Dover, AR to live near her sister and begin working at ANO, a nuclear facility for a short time before moving on to a safer job with Tyson. She was a wife to four husbands, and in her later years, she enjoyed sewing, arts, crafts and spending lots of time with her grandchildren. Above all, Carolyn was a devout Christian woman.
Those surviving Carolyn are her children: Laurie Anne Klassen of Sterling, KS and Anthony Jay Fisher of Knickerson, KS; sisters: Mildred Parker of Shawnee, OK and Barbara Sue Payne of Dover, AR and one brother: Gerald Wayne Farris; 7 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, as well as several nieces nephews.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, August 27, 2021 at Highland Cemetery in Okemah, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
