Hazel Louella Armer

July 24, 1933 — February 25, 2020

Mrs. Hazel Louella Armer, 86, a resident of Bethany, OK, passed away on Tuesday, February 25th in Oklahoma City, OK. Mrs. Armer was born in Dogtown, OK to Ida Bell (Berryhill) and Arthur Alton Blankenship on July 24th, 1933.

Hazel L. Armer, “Sally” was born and raised to adulthood on a large, working farm in Dogtown, OK. In 1956 she married William H. Armer. By 1959 she had three small children to raise. She lived most of her adult life in Dustin, Oklahoma. She loved to garden and tend to her birds.

She wrote many letters to grandchildren that included stories and illustrations about the little creatures that frequented her yard. She loved to cook, try new recipes, and share food with friends and family. She made several beautiful baby quilts, small braided rugs, and other handicrafts. Other hobbies included collecting stuffed bears and adding yearly to her Christmas village. She has lived in a senior retirement center for the last ten years in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Due to ill health she spent the last few months in assisted living. We will miss our sassy Sally.

Mrs. Armer is preceded in death by her husband William H. Armer, a son, William Robert Armer, her parents, Arthur and Ida Bell Blankenship, brothers, Noble Blankenship, Jack Blankenship, Lonnie Blankenship, Dempsey Blankenship, Edmond "Tie" Leroy Blankenship, Arthur Alton Blankenship Jr., Charles Blankenship, William B. Blankenship, Sisters, May (Blankenship) Harmon, Lois (Blankenship) Curran, & Juanita Blankenship.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kimberly Smith (Lonnie) of Yukon, OK, Clara "Carrie"(Bill) Grady of Duncan, OK, Grandchildren, Laura Hawk (Chris) of Oklahoma City, OK, Chloe (Jeremy) Villanueva of Boise, ID, Katie Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, Ryann Grady of Oklahoma City OK, Carrie Diane Armer of Osawatomie, KS, Dallas Wilson, Iola, KS, three great grandchildren, Zachery, Ethan, and Ashleigh Armer, Brother Franklin D. Blankenship, Sister Neva Blankenship as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Graveside Services will be at 2:00PM Saturday, February 29th, 2020 at Dustin Cemetery with Bro. Mike Matlock officiating. Services are under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
