Alfred L. Miller, Jr., a resident of Dewar, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at his Dewar home at the age of 84. Alfred was born on October 16, 1928 in Coalton, Oklahoma to Alfred L. Miller, Sr. and Olive Harris Miller. He spent his early years in this area attending both Henryetta and Dewar Public Schools. Alfred was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Henryetta. He moved to California for his teenage years and graduated from San Gabriel California Lincoln High School. Following high school, he spent two years in veterinary school in California. Alfred spent several years serving in the U.S. Army. Alfred married Pat Wilson on January 21, 1969 in Juarez, Mexico. He began working at McDonald Douglas as an engineer and worked as an engineer for over 50 years, retiring from Boeing Aircraft in 1998. Alfred loved his horses and cows and ranching. And, he was well-known for his yard's immaculate appearance. Alfred is preceded in death by his mother and father; his sister, Betty Dick; his brother, Ronnie Miller; and two twin siblings. He is survived by his wife, Pat Miller of the home in Dewar; by 5 children, Suzanne Day and husband Dr. Pat Day of Arapaho; Trent Miller and wife Sherry of Okmulgee; Lynn Miller of Garland, TX; Brent Miller of Henryetta; and Nancy Bridgewater and husband David of Bixby; 1 sister, Sue Vaughn and husband Earl of Henryetta; 1 brother, Pete Miller of Lake Isabella, CA; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; Also the loves of his life, his puppy dogs, Allie, Mekko, Bazzle, Miley and Samon who he loved dearly. Also by numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and many good friends. Viewing and visitation will be held at Integrity Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 20 from 1pm until 8pm, and on Thursday from 8am until 8pm. A funeral service for Alfred will be held on Friday, February 22 at 2pm at Shurden Chapel with Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
