Allan Theon Ellis, age 64, passed away in his home Sunday night, November 2, 2014. He was born November 23, 1949 in Henryetta, OK. He was a graduate of Henryetta High school and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Allan moved to his beloved 5 acres of woods outside of Mounds, OK in 1976. Allan was the definition of a hermit. He loved nothing better than being at home on top of his hill, surrounded by his trees. Although a man of few words, few people could pack as much meaning into words as he did. He had a short, dry wit that could make you laugh harder than any stand-up comedian. He had a very tender heart and quietly loved his family unconditionally. He was very giving and gave freely without strings attached. He loved all things NASCAR, loved the Blues and the Beatles, taught himself to play the guitar and drums, and loved having jam sessions with his best buds. He was preceded in death by his father, Atlas Theon Ellis, mother Yvonne Frew Ellis, and sister Elizabeth Lynne Ashlock, all of which are buried in Westlawn Cemetery. Allan never married, but is survived by his brother Stephen Ellis of Henryetta, Aunt Carolyn Ellis Livesay of Defuniak Springs, FL, niece Aimee Ashlock Hoffmann of Broken Arrow, OK, niece Amanda Ashlock Cowan of Branson, MO, niece Monique Ellis Thomas of Owasso, great-nieces and nephew, and many cousins. If there was one word to describe Allan, it would be REAL. Real people are hard to find in this world. Interment will be private near his family in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service. If there was one word to describe Allan, it would be REAL.
