Amojean Black passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Amojean loved life. Her greatest pleasure was raising her family and touching the lives of four generations. A champion level water skier, a snow skier and an avid rose gardener, she loved the outdoors. During her life she lived in Henryetta, Leadville, Colorado, Mesa, Arizona, Norman and Oklahoma City, but make no mistake about it, Henryetta was always home.
She raised five children over the course of her life. She persevered through the tough times and celebrated the happy times. She had a heart of gold. Amojean possessed the grit and determination needed to succeed in life. She always viewed life as a glass as half full. She always believed in doing the right thing. Her continuing legacy is her family who will carry forth her spirit and love of life to future generations.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ruby Thompson, sister Verna McGurty, brother Loyd Wayne Thompson and her son Robert Black Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Dana and son-in-law Jeffrey Hirsch, daughters Shelly Dent, Diamond Black and Danielle Black, Nephew Mark McCain, grandchildren Robert “Trey” Black III, Jayden, Sopherra, Rayna, Hannah and husband Ian Fullington, Adam Hirsch and Shelby Fox.
We mourn her death, but we will always remember and celebrate her life.
