Angelia "Angie" Mae Murphy

June 2, 1976 — September 12, 2024

Angelia Mae "Angie" Murphy, a beloved resident of Henryetta, left this world on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 48. Born on June 2, 1976, to Henry Art Shawdah and Faye Josephine Shawdah, Angie lived a life rich in love and connection with those who knew her.

Affectionately known as Gigi, by her granddaughter, Angie cherished her role as a grandmother and the love for her granddaughter was boundless. She found immense joy in watching her sons grow and excel in their passions, whether in rodeos, bull riding, or sports. She loved spending countless hours on the phone with her daughter to go over a list of tasks that she wanted her help with and could not wait for her to come home. Angie enjoyed having her niece, Natasha, as her own personal nurse that she could call about anything or call her just because. She was not just a mother but an unwavering supporter, always present and cheering from the sidelines.

Angie's love for life was reflected in simple pleasures. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to her plants and flowers, and savoring a good cup of coffee. Her faithful companion, her dog Tootie, held a special place in her heart. Music was another source of comfort, with Jelly Roll being her favorite artist.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Art and Faye Josephine Shawdah, her aunt Mary Russell, and her grandmothers Pauline Shawdah and Mary Russell.

Angie leaves behind her devoted husband, Willie James Murphy Jr, and their children: Aleia Murphy and JR Tyus of Damascus, Arkansas, Brannon Murphy and Tarryn Ward of Savannah, Oklahoma, Brody Murphy and Estrella McKim of Henryetta, Oklahoma, and Brayden Murphy of Henryetta. She also leaves behind her granddaughter, Jayda, with another granddaughter on the way. Her siblings, Joella Ferguson and Abel Hernandez of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Silas LaFlore, Aubrey Allen, and their daughter Summer of Porum, Oklahoma, along with her sister-in-law, Angie Barrett, and husband Daniel of Henryetta, also mourn her passing. Numerous extended family members and friends will carry Angie's memory forward in their hearts.

Wake services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Integrity Chapel.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Dewar First Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Curt Russell. Angie will be laid to rest at New Sonora Cemetery, with services under the care and direction of Integrity Funeral Service.

Angie's life was marked by love, dedication, and the deep connections she formed with family and friends. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
