Anna Z. Hackney was born Anna Zelnick in Hartshorne, Oklahoma on July 23, 1932 to Nick Zelnick, Sr. and Mary (Kurilko) Zelnick. She married Arthur C. Hackney, Jr. (Big Daddy) om June 9, 1951 at the Hartshorne First Baptist Church. Ann (Anka) worked outside the home for over 20 years, first as a telephone operator, and later as a cashier retiring from East Central Electric. For a period of time, she was also a stay-at-home Mother to her only child and daughter, Sheila Ann. Ann was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and a long-time resident of Morris, Oklahoma. Ann left this Earth and went to be with her Heavenly Father on JUNE 24, 2010. She was 77 years old, a beautiful woman, with a kind and beautiful soul. She was also a devoted wife to Art and a loving, nurturing Mother to Sheila Ann. She was a great lady who believed there was something good in everyone. She touched the lives of everyone she met in her 77 years on this Earth and was an example of a very great lady. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Mary Zelnick, two sisters, Mary Zelnick and Helen Raleigh, two brothers, Nick (Smiley) Zelnick, Jr. and John Zelnick. Ann is survived by her husband, Art Hackney, Jr. of the home, daughter, Sheila King and husband Ray Alan King of Morris, OK, a sister, Katherine Hiatt of McAlester, OK, niece, Kathy Zelnick of Haileyville, OK, and a nephew, Bobby Ed McKinnon of Enid, OK. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. Graveside services for Ann are scheduled for Monday, June 28, 2010 at 10:00am at the Ft. Gibson national Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, OK.
