April Michelle Mcdowell

April Michelle McDowell was born July 27, 1978 in Kansas City, Kansas to Rita Stapp Smith and A.L Cutbirth. She passed away December 30, 2011 in Eufaula, OK at the age of 33. April spent her early years in Holdenville, OK before moving to Graham, OK where she was raised by her mom and dad; Brent and Rita Smith. She attended school at Wetumka and Graham. She liked to crochet, liked horses, and was an avid reader, but most of all loved being with her family. She was married to Gene McDowell on January 1, 2000. She was preceded in death by her father A.L. Cutbirth and by her grandparents. She is survived by her two children, Morgan Schyler and Madison Shaelynn McDowell of Checotah, Ok, her parents, Brent and Rita Smith of Graham, Oklahoma, sister, Raquel Smith of Muskogee, Oklahoma, three brothers, Adam Stapp of Holdenville, Brent Smith Jr. Of Weleetka, and Clayton Smith of Graham. She was also survived by 4 uncles, 3 aunts and a host of other relatives. Pallbearers will be uncles, Gene, Bobby, Ronnie, and Pete Stapp, and her cousins, Brett Stapp and David (Bear) Strong. Honorary pallbearers will be uncles, Emmitt Counts and Daniel Buck. Wake service will be held Wednesday evening at 7 pm at Faith Baptist Church in Dustin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m, Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Faith Baptist Church in Dustin with Rev. Claiborne Fields, officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Stapp Family Cemetery near Dustin under direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
