Arlene K. Benton, a resident of Henryetta passed away, Thursday, September 8, 2011 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas at the age of 71. She was born March 21, 1940 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Otto and Marie (Mirtz) Sawatsky. Arlene was a graduate of Clinton High School class of 1958. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and worked as a bank teller at American Exchange Bank in Henryetta for over 20 years, retiring in 2003. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Henryetta. Arlene married Galen Benton on March 29, 1986 in Oklahoma City. Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, Otto & Marie Sawatsky. She is survived by her husband Galen Benton of the home Two daughters, Brenda Northrip & husband Scott of Hobart, Oklahoma Lisa Stogner & husband Lyle of Henryetta Two step-children, Terry Benton Tresa Pippin of Eufaula Eight grandchildren and one great grandchild Two brothers, Delmar Sawatzky & wife Ruby of Clinton, Oklahoma Weldon Sawatsky & wife Joyce of Clinton, Oklahoma As well as a host of friends and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Segar Pippin, Patrick Northrip, Tommy Northrip, Randy Green, Garland Benton & Eddie Benton. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Shoun & the Men's Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church: Phil Agee, James Williams, David Martin, Bruce Mahaffey, Don Polston, Marvin Boatright, Ronnie Duke, Randy Ritchie, Mike Polston, Donnie Smith, Ronnie Nelson, Billy Patrick, Dale Dickey, & Dick Doyle. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Henryetta with Rev. Dale Durnell, officiating. Interment will follow in Salt Creek Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
