Ben Ray Haynes, a resident of Wetumka passed away Wednesday, December 20th, 2017 in Henryetta at the age of 85. He was born October 25, 1932 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Waldo Haynes and Mary (Renfrow) Haynes.
He married Norma Dearman February 25, 1955 at the United Pentecostal Church in Okemah. He was a member of the Dewar United Pentecostal Church. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for many years. He served on the Wetumka Board of Education for over 20 years. He was also a member of the Wetumka American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, also by three brothers, Robert Haynes, Paul Haynes, & Jim Haynes.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Norma Haynes of the home;
Two children: Stephen Ray Haynes of Tahlequah;
Pamela Putman & husband Jerry of Wetumka;
Two grandsons, Britton Putman of Wetumka & fiance' Bree'Andra Palmer;
Brayden Putman & of Wetumka;
Also by a host of friends and other relatives.
Viewing for Ben will be from 5-8pm on Friday and 8am until Noon on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be, Britton Putman, Brayden Putman, David Dearman, Butch Dearman, Johnny Haynes, & Danny McEwin. Honorary pallbearers will be, Bill Williams, Wylie Whisman, Don Beasley & Craig Churchhill.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin & Rev. Gregg Joki, officiating. Interment will follow in Wetumka Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
