Betty Jane Hicks

Betty Jane Hicks, age 72, resident of Okmulgee, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, July 26th, 2022 in Okmulgee. Betty was born on December, 21, 1949 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Mary June and Thomas Harjo. Betty was a homemaker,, and a loving grandmother of two. She was also a member of the Many Springs Indian Baptist Church in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Danille Harjo.

Survivors include two children, Nofuah Hicks, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and Doetta Hicks, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; Two Grandchildren, Thomas Freeman, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and Mathias Toppah, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; One Son-in-Law, Johnas Buckley, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; Two Brothers, Tommy Harjo, Wetumka, Oklahoma, and Roy Harjo, Wetumka, Oklahoma; Four Sisters, Janice Green, Weleetka, Oklahoma, Melissa Harjo, Wetumka, Oklahoma, Helen Powell, Holdenville, Oklahoma, and Alice Ross, Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Viewing for Betty will be on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 2:00 PM till 4:00 PM at Integrity Funeral Service. Wake services will be on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Alabama Baptist Church in Weleetka, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Alabama Baptist Church in Weleetka, Oklahoma. Burial will follow the service at Harjo Family Cemetery off Number 9 Highway.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Yargee, Johnas Buckley, Timothy Golden, Kirby Green and Louis Green.
