Brenda Jane Dobson Ashcraft, of Henryetta, was born on October 29, 1961 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Dennis Shelby and Evelyn (Dobbs) Spake. She passed from this life on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 48. Brenda was raised by her mother and dad Cecil Dobson and grew up in the Henryetta area, attending school in both Henryetta and Dewar. After school, she worked for several years as a cook and waitress at the Colonial Motel and Pancake House in Henryetta. She later worked for several years at Fountainview Nursing Home in Henryetta as a nurse assistant. She was a member of the Henryetta Bible Baptist Church. Brenda was married to David Ray Ashcraft on August 26, 1996 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She remained married to David until his death on May 18, 2010. Brenda is preceded in death by her husband; both her mother and her father; a sister-in-law, Melinda Dobson; and by her infant son, Michael Adrian Goodwin. Brenda is survived by 3 daughters, Amy Edmundson of Henryetta, Amanda Goodwin of Tulsa, and Shawnda Baker of Tulsa; a son, Danny E. Goodwin II and wife Carrie of Tulsa; 4 Grandchildren, Gary Edmundson of Henryetta, Caleb Goodwin of Eufaula, Tanner Goodwin of Tulsa and Jazmyn Goodwin of Sapulpa; by her stepchildren, Lacey Ashcraft of Springdale, MO and Cody Ashcraft of Phoenix, AZ; 2 step-grandchildren, Lexie and Rickey Ashcraft, both of Springdale, MO; a sister, Tammy Doyle and husband Steve of Dewar; and 2 brothers, Randy Dobson of Dewar, and Terry Dobson and wife Kathy of Bryant, OK. Pallbearers will be Dillon Doyle, Cody Doyle, Stephen Doyle, Lee Dobson, Harold Kuhell, and Aaron Dobson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rocky Gorley, Shane Dobson and Andrew Antoibe. A combined funeral service for Brenda and a memorial service for her husband, David will be held on Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Dewar Baptist Church at 10:00am with Rev. Jack Vance and Rev. Randy Matthews officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
