Buddy Lassiter, a resident of Checotah, passed away on Monday, July 13th, 2020 in Henryetta. Buddy was born on September 8, 1949 in Haleyville, Alabama to Hack and Bee Lassiter
He grew up in Stigler where he worked on the family dairy. He attended Stigler Schools and graduated in 1967. He graduated from Eastern Oklahoma State College and Oklahoma State University in 1971. He was Ranch Foreman at Fairfield Farms from 1973-1989. Buddy was recognized as one of ten Outstanding Jaycee Presidents in the State of Oklahoma. Buddy also coached Girls Softball and was Equine Instructor and Assistant Rodeo Coach at Conners College, and also served as Head Rodeo Coach at Bacone College. Buddy also participated in many sports, but loved rodeo the best.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents W.H. Lassiter and Lula Bee Lassiter and one brother, Bruce Lassiter.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife, Delores, of the home; sons: Shawn Lassiter and Candy of Stigler, Oklahoma, Scott Lassiter and Treasa of Stigler, Oklahoma, and David Thomas of Texas. Daughters: Sheena Christenberry and husband Mark of Stigler, Oklahoma and Linda Thomas of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Sisters: Sue and Rock Humphrey of Stigler, Oklahoma and Kaye Ettner of McAlester, Oklahoma; Brothers: Mike and Le'Ann Lassiter of Stigler, Oklahoma and Gary and Marilyn Lassiter of Fairfield, Texas; Grandchildren: Madilyn, Kyle, Parker, Kace, Presley, Paxton, Skyler, and Bubba; Great-grandchildren: Kinzly, Ella, Myles, Wrenley; Parents-in-law: Everett and wife Hilda Prevett of Henryetta, Oklahoma and Brother-in-law: Carl and wife Cathy of
of Glenpool, Oklahoma and a host of nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be from 3:00PM-6:00PM on Thursday, July 16th, 2020 at Integrity Funeral Service Chapel, Henryetta, Oklahoma
Funeral Services will be at 6:00PM Thursday, July 16th, 2020 at Integrity Funeral Service Chapel, Henryetta, Oklahoma.
Separate visitation and funeral services will take place in Stigler, Oklahoma at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, at 209 NE F St. with viewing to take place from 9:00AM-7:00PM Friday with family receiving friends from 6:00PM-7:00PM. Funeral Services will be at 10:00AM. Saturday July 18th, 2020 at Stigler First Assembly of God Church, 303 SE B St., Stigler, Oklahoma
Interment will follow at Stigler City Cemetery
