Carliss Ezell Pollard

April 20, 1955 — January 8, 2024

Carliss Ezell Pollard, a cherished family man and respected community member, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 68. Born on April 20, 1955, in Bakersfield, California, Carliss's journey through life was marked by his friendly nature and adventurous spirit.

Carliss is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol, with whom he built a beautiful life in their Morris home. He was a devoted father to his daughter, LaTonya Henley, and her husband, Eric, of Henryetta. His legacy continues through his grandsons, Chase Whitfield of Stillwater and Chance Whitfield of Skiatook, who will carry forward his love for life's simple pleasures. Carliss's memory will also be cherished by his siblings, Bernice Hughes and her husband, Jim, of Tulsa; Danny Pollard and his wife, Angie, of Morris; Brenda Nuckolls of Dewar; and Bucky Pollard and his wife, Michelle, of Henryetta. His life was enriched by a host of friends and other relatives who will miss him dearly.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Ezell and Jewel Pollard, his brothers, Earl Pollard and Terry Joe Pollard, and his sisters, Glendora Hughes and Vicki Nuckolls.Grandson, Clay Whitfield. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he is now reunited with them in eternal peace.

Carliss's work ethic was as strong as his commitment to his family. He spent many years as a driller on oil rigs, a job that showcased his resilience and determination. Later, he co-operated a muffler and Mechanic shop in Okmulgee, and later returned to back to his passion of drilling. His hands were skilled, and his knowledge was vast, making him a valued member of the local business community.

Beyond his professional life, Carliss was a man whose focus was always on his family. He was happiest when surrounded by his loved ones, sharing stories and creating memories. His love for fishing and hunting was only surpassed by the joy he found in riding his motorcycle, feeling the freedom of the open road. These interests were more than hobbies; they were the avenues through which he expressed his love for adventure and the great outdoors.

Carliss will be remembered as a friendly soul, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. His adventurous nature inspired those around him to embrace life with enthusiasm and courage. He was a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
