Cathy Charlene Strong

Cathy Charlene McGowin Strong, a lifetime resident of Dewar, was born October 19, 1959 in Henryetta to Arvin and Virginia Faye (Stidman) McGowin. Cathy passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 in Tulsa at the age of 51. Cathy attended Dewar High School and was a member of the Abundant Life Pentecostal Holiness Church. Cathy was the manager of KFC in Henryetta for many years and former manager of Sisters 2 restaurant in Henryetta. She is preceded in death by her father Arvin McGowin, a sister, Sally Pollard, two nephews, Arvin Lee McGowin II & Token Spears. She is survived by one son, Robert Todd Strong & wife Gina of Dewar An adopted son, Billy Nunn of Salem Four grandchildren, Christopher Fixico, Charity Fixico, Jade Horn, & Jennifer Horn all of Preston Her mother, Virginia Faye McGowin of Dewar Two sisters, Vickie Szarwinski of Dewar Dana Wells & husband Carl of Dewar Five brothers, Arvin McGowin & wife Faye of Dewar Gary McGowin & wife Ann of Dewar Johnnie McGowin of Dewar Jimmy McGowin & wife Renee of Bryant Ronnie McGowin & wife Christy of Dewar Father of her son & her companion, Robert Strong of Henryetta A brother-in-law, Terry Pollard of Dewar As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Pallbearers will be, Robert Todd Strong, Billy Nunn, Gary Henry McGowin, Chad McGowin, T. J. Pollard, & Tommy Spears. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2011 at Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Vance, Rev. Becky Watkins, & Rev. Suzie Stephens, officiating. Interment will follow in Salt Creek Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
