Christopher Wesley Guynes completed his final road trip of life on August 28,
2022 at the age of 47. He was born on July 4, 1975 to Larry and Kathleen Guynes at Beale Air Force Base, Beale, CA.
Chris grew up believing that everyone celebrated his birthday, the 4th of July, with fireworks. He thrived on adventure and loved to fish and hunt. He was happiest driving with the windows rolled down, dogs in the back seat, and listening to music even with no destination in mind. Chris could sit for hours watching his fishing pole intently, and nothing compared to the smile on his face as he reeled his fish in. He had a unique talent and passion for drawing. His Native American culture was important to him and his drawings often reflected his loving embrace to those roots.
Chris is survived by his mother Kathleen Guynes of California, sister Jodi Mallen of California, his children, Olivia Guynes of Oregon, Alyssa Guynes of Oklahoma, Isaac Guynes of Oklahoma and his fiancé, Luticia Nixon of Texas.
He is preceded in death by his father, Larry Guynes of Arkansas.
"When the blood in your veins returns to the sea and the earth in your bones
returns to the ground, perhaps then you will remember that this land does not
belong to you, it is you who belongs to this land." - Choctaw spiritual prayer
