Dana Ruth Evans

Dana Ruth Evans, affectionately known as Dana to her friends and family, completed her earthly journey on December 6, 2023, at the age of 77. Born on February 21, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Prue Howard and Minnie Lee Jenkins, Dana grew up with a warmth and generosity that illuminated the lives of all she touched. After a life spent nurturing a loving family and serving her community in Okmulgee and Morris, Oklahoma, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who cherished her deeply.

Dana found her soulmate in Billy Joe Evans, and the two were united in marriage on May 25, 1962, in their hometown of Tulsa. Although she now joins her predeceased husband, her parents, her brothers Bobby and James "Sonny" Jenkins, her great-grandson, Triston Dean Bosworth, and twin granddaughters, Tina Michelle and Sherry Beth Evans, Dana's spirit endures through her surviving loved ones.

As a homemaker, Dana's vocation was her family, and her house always felt like a home to anyone who entered. In addition to her duties at home, she was a dedicated pastors' wife and a steadfast member of Christ Fellowship Church of Okmulgee for 30 years. Her faith was an integral part of her identity, guiding her through life's challenges and joys.

Having been a resident of Okmulgee County serving in the Okmulgee and Morris community for over 40 years, Dana played an essential role in her community. Her door was always open, her kitchen always busy, and her advice always wise. She brought grace and comfort to every occasion, and her influence extended far beyond the walls of her home.

She is survived by her son, Tommy Evans, Tulsa, Oklahoma, brother, David Jenkins, Tulsa, Oklahoma along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and her dog Speedy.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
