Daniel James Delso, a longtime resident of Dewar, passed from this life on Saturday, November 22nd, 2014 at his home in Dewar at the age of 75. Daniel was born on May 17, 1939 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Alex Delso and Margarite Bowdler Delso. Daniel grew up in the Schulter community and attended schools in Schulter. In the 5th grade he and his family moved and he attended Dewar Public Schools. After graduating from high school, Daniel served several years in the U.S. Army before returning home. Daniel married his first wife, Joyce. From this union, he was blessed with a son and two daughters. Daniel worked for PPG glass plant for approximately twelve years before accepting a position with Okmulgee Water Plant. He worked for the Okmulgee Water Plant for approximately 15 years. Daniel loved to hunt and fish, enjoyed four wheeling, camping, hiking, and virtually any outdoor activity. He was an avid collector of eclectic items. On April 9, 2001 he married Ruby Walker in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Daniel is preceded in death by both his mother and his father; his first wife, Joyce Delso; and an infant son, Daniel James Delso, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Delso of the home; a son, David Delso and wife Tina of Henryetta; two daughters, Debbie Castelli and husband Tim of Beggs and Deanna Cope and special friend, Gary Hubbs; by 5 grandchildren, Buddy Stephens, Larry Weaver Jr., Star Edmonds, Jeremy Cope, and Jabin Craig; 18 great grandchildren; a step-son, Mike Malone and wife Patti of Rose, OK; a brother, Alex Delso and wife Kathleen of Dewar; three sisters, Linda Huffman and husband Kenneth of Texas, Sandra and Van Smith of Texas and Annabelle Grady and husband Dwight of Prague, OK; by numerous other extended family and many good friends. Viewing and visitation will be held at Integrity Funeral Service on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 4pm until 8pm and on Tuesday, November 25, from 8am until noon. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00pm at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, with Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Buddy Stephens, Jeremy Cope, Larry Weaver, Tim Castelli, Gary Hubbs, Jr. and Gary Hubbs, Sr.
