Daniel Melvin Russell

Daniel M. Russell, a resident of Hitchita, passed from this life on Sunday, December 29, 2013 in Henryetta at the age of 61. Daniel was born in Sacramento, California on March 13, 1952 to Daniel H. Russell and Geraldine Bowers Russell. Daniel grew up in California and attended grade school and high school there. He graduated from Folsom High School in 1970. Daniel was married to Linda Jo Ament in December of 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Daniel and Linda moved to Oklahoma in September of 2002. He became involved in the ranching business. He and Linda owned a ranching operation which bred and raised bucking stock. He has been providing bucking stock to the rodeo entities since 1963. He is preceded in death by his mother and his father. Daniel is survived by his wife, Linda Russell, of the home in Hitchita; a son, Daniel James Russell and wife Elizabeth of Placerville, CA; a daughter, Tanya Joy Russell of Elk Grove, CA; 2 grandchildren, Mason Gregory Russell and Cooper Daniel Russell, both of Placerville; 3 sisters, Gail Phillips of Elco, Nevada, Diane Russell Pavey and husband Ralph of Wilton, CA, and LInda Joy Catlett and husband Ron of Carson City, NV; a nephew, Rex Phillips and wife Eileen of Henryetta; a great nephew, Billy Quade Phillips of Henryetta; a great niece, Syudney Rothwell and husband Rocky of Helena, MT; a great great niece, Lillian Rothwell; a great nephew, Rocky Rex Rothwell; by numerous other nieces, nephews and other family; many good friends from his extended family in the rodeo business; and by many good friends. A Memorial service for Daniel was held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at the R.V. Ranch, 2548 Hwy 75, Beggs, Oklahoma. Arrangements were under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
