Danny Joe Shepherd

Danny Joe Shepherd, a longtime resident of the Schulter area, died Thursday, February 18, 2010 in Tulsa at the age of 38. He was born February 15, 1972 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Dean Shepherd and Mary (Ciambella) Smith. He was a member of the Schulter Baptist Church, Schulter, Oklahoma, Danny loved spending time with his children. He graduated from Gore high-school where he played sports and was in the band. In his younger days in Henryetta he was on the wrestling team. Danny was active in the YMCA and coached basketball. Danny worked for Randy's Meats in Okmulgee for many years and most recently worked for Midcontinent Concrete as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Uleda Thomas and Louis Ciambella, and by his Paternal grandparents, Leonard and Loretta Shepherd, as well as his brother-in-law, Cliffy Henry. He is survived by his wife, Ladonna Shepherd of Okmulgee; his three children, William Shepherd of Gore, Oklahoma, Baily Shepherd of the home and Landon Shepherd of the home; a step-daughter, Samantha Swinney of Okmulgee; father, Dean Shepherd & wife Sue of Henryetta; mother, Mary Smith & husband James of Schulter, Oklahoma; sisters, DeAnna Garrett & husband Bobby of Webers Falls, Oklahoma, and Melissa Shepherd-Henry & Travis Maldonado of Henryetta; one brother, Jeffrey Shepherd & wife Bobbi of Fairfield, Texas; and by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 4:00 PM, Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Wilson School Gymnasium in Wilson, Oklahoma with Rev. George Christy, officiating and Bro. Mike Odell, assisting. Interment will follow in Salt Creek Cemetery in Wilson under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
