Dearrell Truman Stephens, a resident of Henryetta, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 in Boise, ID at the age of 79. He was born July 6, 1937 in Henryetta, OK to Henry Clay Stephens & Loy Iva (Pickle) Stephens. Dearrell grew up in Henryetta and attended Henryetta Public Schools, where he played on the varsity football team as a lineman. Dearrell was born and raised in the Nazarene Church in Henryetta.
Dearrell married his high school sweetheart, Norma McNeil in 1955. They remained married for approximately 25 years. Dearrell later moved to Idaho and married Lorain Smith in Lake Tahoe. Dearrell loved sports, especially football, loud motorcycles and his scooter. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and the mountains where he taught his children how to pan for gold. He worked for the casinos in Las Vegas in several different capacities.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.
Dearrell is survived by his son, Dearrell Truman Stephens Jr,
daughter, Ruby Janette Jafari of Palm Springs, California,
daughter, Loretta Jean Demmitt of Henryetta, Oklahoma,
son, Jeffery Karl Stephens of Henryetta,
son, Aaron Kent Stephens & wife Kara of Arlington, Texas,
grandchildren:
Anthony Jafari of Colorado Springs, Colorado;
Jennifer Jafari Watkins & husband Alan of Colorado Springs;
Jeffrey Demmitt of Henryetta;
Erin Hulse of Stillwater;
Samantha Stephens of Arlington, Texas;
and Grayson Stephens of Arlington,
one great grandchild, Ali Watkins,
spouse, Lorain Stephens of Boise, Idaho,
cousin, Doyle Pickle & wife Kay of Henryetta,
the mother of his children, Norma McNeal of Henryetta,
cousin, Butch Summers & Rita of Henryetta, Oklahoma
as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
