July 10, 1952 — January 16, 2025

Deborah Lynn Mericle, 72, a resident of Henryetta, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, January 16th, 2025 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Deborah was born July 10th, 1952 in Schulter, Oklahoma to Bonnie Lee (Cummings) and Joseph Frank Mussa.

Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Margaret "Dee" and Leon Grace, sister and brother-in-law, Ruth "Pug" and David Dykes, brothers, Joseph "Joe" Mussa and Robert "Bobby" Mussa.

When family and friends think of love and laughter, Deborah Lynn Mussa Mericle is the person who comes into our hearts. She passed away on January 16, 2025 and part of our hearts left this world with her. We live our lives hoping to make a difference; Debbie made a difference and made a lasting impact on the lives of her friends and family. She was the youngest of five siblings and the last to embark on her journey to Heaven. Her family has deep roots in the Schulter area; she was born in Schulter and moved with her mom and dad to Texas but eventually found her way home to Schulter in 1977, where she remained until the end of her life.

Debbie was dedicated to serving and helping others through her work and everyday life. She spent 42 years at Bono Nursing Home, serving as an administrator and a friend to many. When her children were in school, she volunteered at school activities and centered her world around being there for them. She was known for putting others first no matter the time or effort it took, and she is remembered for always smiling, laughing, and loving.

Her daughter, Jamie Stika (Gregory), and their three sons, Caleb, Hayden, and Cayson, of Catoosa, Oklahoma; her son, Matthew Mericle (Amanda), and their children Hunter, Kaden, and Taylor McCarthy (Chris) and their daughter Cheyenne of Ada, Oklahoma; and a host of loving nieces and nephews are left behind to celebrate her life and to continue to love and remember her.

Debbie was known for "making memories". Every experience and event that she was a part of held value and was dear to her. She was known for telling stories and recalling events and dates with a miraculous memory; if you did not know a date or family fact, you called her. Her love for others stretched beyond blood family, and often, she had neighborhood kids and cousins who called her "Aunt Debbie" or a second mom; to her, they were family, and she loved them all the same. She enjoyed traveling with her family and was always up for the opportunity to spend time with her children and grandchildren; being a Memme was her joy in life. Her hobby was family, and she ensured that her time and love was always centered around them.

Debbie, Aunt Debbie, Deb, Debbie Doo, Mama, and Memme were just names for an amazing, unforgettable person whose love and memories will live on with everyone who knew her. Her love for life, friends, and family are engrained in our hearts, and we will honor her memory by living and loving the way she did - we will live our life "making memories" in her honor.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Matthew Mericle and wife Amanda of Ada, Oklahoma, daughter, Jamie Stika and husband Greg of Catoosa, Oklahoma, six grandchildren, Caleb Stika, Hayden Stika, Cayson Stika, Taylor McCarthy and husband Chris, Hunter Mericle, Kaden Mericle, great-granddaughter Cheyenne McCarthy, sisters-in-law, Neta "Gay" Mussa of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Elizabeth "Liz" Abbott of Texas and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
