Delbert Drandon Matthews a resident of Coalton, was born August 6, 1929 in Tiger Mountain to James Floyd Matthews and Dora Ann Lafoon Matthews. He passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010 at his home in Coalton. He was a retired glass worker with PPG Industries in Henryetta. He was a veteran serving with the United States Army and was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Henryetta. He married Virginia Bicknell McKee November 17, 1983 in rural Henryetta. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Larry Smith, 3 sisters, Ima Jean Nunn, June Nunn & Charlene Matthews. Also by a brother Floyd Matthews. He is survived by his wife Virginia Matthews of the home 2 daughters, Cynthia Lynn Thomas & husband Jim of Mustang Phyllis Stanke & husband Claude of Schulter 2 sons, Delbert Dwayne Matthews of Henryetta Rick Smith & wife Susan of Nashville, Tennessee 11 grandchildren, Kane Thomas & wife Molina, Jacob Thomas, Joey Matthews, Hollie Matthews, Christian Matthews, Bart Walker & wife April, Kelsey Anderson & husband Vincent, Damon Smith & wife Susan, Brian Smith & wife Roxanne, Keith Smith & wife Shelby & Dennis Smith & wife Michelle. 12 great grandchildren 1 brother, Deroy Matthews & wife June of Henryetta 1 sister, Doris Jean Matthews of Sapulpa As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives Pallbearers will be Delbert's grandsons. Kane Thomas, Jacob Thomas, Joey Matthews, Bart Walker, Damon Smith, Brian Smith, Keith Smith, & Dennis Smith. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the Gospel Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Larry Grissom officiating. Interment will follow in New Sonora Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
