Delena Ann Montgomery, affectionately known as "Granny" passed away Tuesday, December 19th, 2017. She was born September 2, 1938 to George & Magnolia Henderson in Henryetta, Oklahoma.
She married Jake Montgomery and moved to the Wilson Community where they lived for over sixty years.
Delena was an avid gardener and would can the fruits of her labor so she could share them with everyone to enjoy. She was famous for her excellent cooking, especially her enchiladas, picante sauce, sugar cookies and her chocolate cake known as "Aunt Delena Cake". Delena was a friend to many and "loved" to talk to everyone in town. She will always be remembered for her laugh, hugs and giving spirit.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Marshall (Curley), Russell, Harold and Kenneth; sisters: Willene and Bette.
She is survived by her husband, Jake Montgomery of the home;
son, Kenneth Montgomery & wife Brenda;
daughter, Jana Clark & husband Andy;
granddaughters, Aimee Yarbrough & husband Kenny;
Ashley Montgomery;
Megan Benson & husband Kent;
great grandchildren,
Cooper Jake Yarbrough, Claire Ann Yarbrough and soon to arrive, Montgomery Kate Benson;
one sister, Arylene Haynes;
as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Viewing will be on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 8am to 8pm at Integrity Funeral Service.
The family has requested donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
Pallbearers will be, Terry Henderson, Jerry Henderson, Bruce Henderson, Bill Henderson, David Henderson, Jim Haynes, Tom Haynes, & Harold Henderson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
