Yvonne Robertson, a longtime resident of Henryetta, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 in Henryetta at the age of 76. Yvonne was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma on August 31, 1936 to Edward Almeda Carter. Yvonne married the love of her life, Richard "Bill" Robertson, on September 9, 1955 in Henryetta. They remained happily married until Bill's death in 2007. They were devoted partners for 48 years. Yvonne was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where she majored in English and Drama. Following graduation, Yvonne went to work for the Oklahoma City Public School System, where she was employed at Douglas High School as an English teacher from 1974 to 2002. She retired from her teaching position with 28 years of devoted service. Yvonne loved to bowl and she was an outstanding cook and baker. She was an accomplished artist and painter and loved sewing and gardening. Yvonne had a special love for traveling, but always enjoyed time at home with her family. Yvonne is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Bill; 1 brother and 2 sisters. She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Lynn Flores and husband Carlos of San Antonio, TX and Cindy Marie Free and husband John of Pawhuska; a son, Edward Lee Robertson and wife Helena of Muskogee, OK; 6 grandchildren, David Lynn Ellis and wife Suzi of Kingston, OK, James Henry Ellis and wife Mary of Kingston, Austin Richard Ballinger and partner Samatha of Oklahoma City, Adrian Flores of Carisso Springs, TX, Danielle Flores of Austin, TX, and Charlie Flores of Denver, CO; 6 great grandchildren, Sadie Ellis, Aaron Ellis, Taylor Ellis, Brinley Ellis, Christian Wheeler, and Grace Wheeler, all of Kingston, OK; by numerous nieces, nephews, and many good friends. Graveside Funeral Services for Yvonne will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Robertson Family Cemetery, near Dustin. Interment will follow the service under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta. Pallbearers will be David Ellis, James Ellis, Austin Ballenger, J.W. Robertson, Don Tiger, and Robert Robertson.
