Muskogee resident Dianna Marie Wailes, formerly of Henryetta, went to be with her Saviour at the age of 56 on Sunday, March 6, 2011 in Muskogee following a courageous fight with cancer. Dianna was born in Henryetta on May 24, 1954 to Gilbert Lorton Wailes and Mary Speer Wailes. She grew up in Henryetta, attended Henryetta Public Schools and graduated from Henryetta High School in 1972. She attended East Central University in Ada and later graduated from the Seminole School of Nursing in 1975. Dianna enjoyed attending craft shows and antiquing, acquiring many of her favorite collectibles. Dianna spent most of her adult life working as a registered nurse. She was employed as an RN and charge nurse at Muskogee Regional Medical Center for 23 1/2 years before her retirement for medical reasons. She attended the Southeast Baptist Church in Muskogee. She is preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Wailes. Dianna is survived by the pride of her life, her son, Anthony Wailes of the home; her loving mother, Mary Wailes of Henryetta; a brother, William Wailes and his wife Debra of Bartlesville; a nephew, Matthew Wailes of Bartlesville; an aunt, Maudie Harrington of Okmulgee; numerous cousins and other family; special best friends Al and Linda Milton of Fort Gibson, OK; and a host of friends from her hospital family and church. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family but we are assured Heaven is now a brighter place with her arrival. The family has designated the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-718 and/or the Youth Group of the Southeast Baptist Church of Muskogee as appropriate for memorial contributions. A Memorial Service for Dianna will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Southeast Baptist Church, 2511 E. Hancock in Muskogee with the Rev. Monty Baggett officiating.
