Dixie Rae Henry

December 18, 1934 — October 14, 2024

"Mom" Dixie Rae (Vanerwegen) Henry, better known as Mom, Momma, Aunt Dixie, Mema or Grandma left this world on October 14, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 89 to her forever home with her Lord and Savior.

Dixie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas Franklyn Henry, sons Tommy, Ronnie and Gary as well as 2 grandchildren Kristen Nicole and Kyle Ross Lee.

Dixie was born December 18, 1934 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Raymond Vanerwegen & Erma (Self) Vanerwegen. She married the love of her life Thomas Franklyn Henry on March 29,1950. She worked as a cook for Patty Ann and later as a cashier for many years for Safeway/Homeland before her retirement. Dixie loved teaching her Sunday school class at Immanuel Baptist Church until her health prevented it. She loved quilting and was in A Stitch In Time Quilters Club for many years and took many trips with them.

She was the matriarch of our family. She was the most selfless and caring woman with a heart of gold. She loved spending time with her family cooking and celebrating all the holidays. She loved all of her grandchildren dearly. They were her favorite thing to talk about and her greatest joy! We have great peace knowing she is reunited with her precious husband, sons and grandchildren in Heaven

Dixie is survived by her daughter Joy Boyd and husband Rob of Broken Arrow, brother Jerry Vanerwegen & wife Gretchen of Homerville, Georgia, two granddaughters Kendall Williams & husband Vince of Henryetta; Stephanie Hill & husband Charles of Henryetta, 6 grandsons Tom Henry & wife Shelly of Mannford; Sebo Henry & wife Sandy of Morris, Trevor Henry & wife Shoshana of Henryetta; Kiefer James Thomas Boyd of Broken Arrow, Chase Boyd & wife Casey of New Hampshire and Blake Boyd of Massachusetts. Seventeen great- grandchildren: BrookLynn Baughman, Zoe Boatright, Harley Williams, Harper Williams, Hazley Williams, Kaitlyn Line, Kallie Henry, Marissa LaMaster, Andrea Hill, Juliane Perry, Aspen Henry, Sophia Boyd, Ezra Boyd, Caleb Fields, Aryn Fields, Caden Henry, Kasyn Henry; five great-great-grandchildren: Carter, Oaklee, Delilah, Riley, Dallin and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
