Don Dwane Burleson, a resident of Hanna, passed away December 02, 2013 in Muskogee, OK at the age of 66. He was born Sunday, December 29, 1946 in Hanna, OK to Guy Burleson & Myrtle Lorene (Pendley) Burleson. He was a heavy equipment operator in construction. He is a veteran of the United States Army. He Graduated high school in 1965, then joined the Army in 1966-1968 and was honorably discharged and then joined the Army Reserve from 1968-1972. During his service in the reserves he married the love of his life, Delores Carolyene Cox on November 2, 1968 in Winterhaven, California. Don worked construction using heavy machinery that included highway construction and pipeline construction, which stretched from Maine to California. He enjoyed every minute of it. Don was enthusiastic about his job. While working construction he farmed with his wife and son. Don retired at the age of 62, due to his health. Don is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Patsy Burleson. Don is survived by his wife Delores of the home; One son, Jayton Burleson of Morris; One brother, Ronnie Joe Burleson; Four sisters, Carolyn Sue Cook & husband Bob of Grandbury, Texas; Loretta Jean Burleson of Broken Arrow; Linda Gerster & husband Gail of Henryetta; Shirley Holly & husband Kenneth of Norman; He had many nephews and nieces. As well as a host of friends and other relatives. Pallbearers will be James Berryhill, William Burleson, Joe Don Burleson, Bryan Campbell, Manuel Marez & Steven Kennedy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Davis, Donald Hopkins, Larry Bogle, Guftin Cox, Brad Campbell, Wayne Guevara, Shawn Holly & James Holly. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Hanna Assembly of God with Rev. Anderson Fields, officating. Interment will be in Hanna Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
