Donna Jean Mordecai

November 28, 1949 — June 23, 2011

Donna Jean Mordecai, a longtime resident of Henryetta, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011 in a Tulsa hospital. Donna was born on November 28, 1949 in Henryetta to Doyle T. Bozarth and Margaret Lahey Bozarth. She grew up in Henryetta and attended St. Michael's School. She later graduated from Henryetta High School. Following high school, Donna attended X-ray training at Hillcrest Medical Center and later attended OSU Okmulgee where she received her Associates degree in accounting. Donna worked at Henryetta Medical Center for approximately 14 years before her retirement in 1999. She worked behind the scenes in numerous campaign efforts for the Democratic party. She was also a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Henryetta. Donna is preceded in death by her mother and father; and her sister, Margie Jo May, who died in April, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Heather Mordecai and husband, Jim Brook of Henryetta; by her son, Staff Sgt. Edward Mordecai and wife Casta of Okmulgee; 6 grandchildren, Mitaya Mordecai, Connor Brook, Grace Brook, and Peyton Brook, all of Henryetta and by Reagan Mordecai and Cadence Mordecai of Okmulgee; by one niece, Margaret Oliver and husband, Robert Oliver of Beggs; 2 great nephews, Devon Oliver and Brent Oliver, both of Beggs; by numerous other extended family and many close friends. Viewing and visitation will occur on Saturday from 11:30am - 8pm and Sunday from noon to 8pm at the funeral home. A rosary service will be held at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Henryetta on Monday evening , June 27, 2011 at 7:00pm. Funeral services for Donna will be held on Tuesday morning, June 28, 2011 at 10:00am at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Henryetta with Fr. Peter Pfung officiating. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
