Doris Jean Phillips a lifelong resident of the Henryetta - Dewar community, passed away January 12, 2011 in Henryetta at the age of 80. She was born January 8, 1931 in Sunrise to Clarence Henry and Bertie (Sturkey) Henry. She was a graduate of Dewar High School and a longtime member of Dewar First Baptist Church. She married Carthol Phillips October 20, 1951 in Arkansas. Doris worked at the Henryetta Walmart in the Jewelry Department and later worked at Taylor Gifts in Henryetta. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carthol Phillips in 2001 and a son Gregg Phillips in 1999. She is survived by two children: Mark Phillips and wife Anna of Lone Grove, Oklahoma Carla Phillips Slape of Okmulgee Daughter-in-law, Patricia Phillips of Sand Springs 6 grandchildren, Laci Slape of Okmulgee Jeff Phillips of Sand Springs Logan Slape & wife Dani of Okmulgee Kelly Phillips of Sand Springs Tyler Phillips of Dallas, Texas Lynsey Phillips of Sand Springs 1 great-grandchild, Adrianne Wilson of Okmulgee 1 brother, Philip Dean Henry of Tulsa As well as a host of friends and other relatives Pallbearers will be Doris' grandsons, Jeff Phillips, Logan Slape, Kelly Phillips, & Tyler Phillips. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 2-5 pm Sunday, January 16, 2011. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Vance, officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
