Douglas Lee Anderson went home to Jesus on January 31, 2022 at age 59 from complications with COVID.
Doug was born on November 11th, 1962 to Russell and Betty Anderson in Okmulgee. He grew up in Morris Oklahoma with his siblings, Allen, Janice, & Royce Ann where they attended the United Pentecostal Church. He was an inquisitive child who always took things apart and sometimes put them back together. After graduating from Morris High School in 1981, he went on work for Warehouse Market where he learned about the grocery business and met Lisa Brewer.
Doug and Lisa were married on May 17th 1985. They started a family in Morris, OK. In addition to Lisa’s daughter Shayla they had 3 sons; Kyle, Ryan, and Jared.
In 1991, Doug and his family moved to Cushing, OK to open The Boy Howdy store which had always been a dream for Doug to own his own business. This became a staple of downtown Cushing for many years.
In 2002 Doug began working at Webco Industries in Mannford, OK as a mill operator where he proudly worked for 20 years.
In August of 2012 Doug met Brenda Frank. A year and half later on April 4th 2014 they would marry; reside in Jenks, OK and later move to Cushing, OK where they would be happily married until his passing.
Doug was a selfless and genuine man who cared about everyone he met. He would strike up a conversation with waiters or people in the grocery store. People would open up to him and he would offer counsel. Doug and Brenda enjoyed traveling to the mountains and the ocean. They would take quick road trips to explore historical sites and small town antique shops and old homes. He liked exploring so much sometimes Brenda couldn’t find him. He always enjoyed getting lost in the mystery. He is now having a wonderful time exploring the endless beauties of heaven.
Doug joins his parents, Russell and Betty Anderson, and his sister, Janice Hurt, in Heaven. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Anderson (Cushing ,OK), her children Heather Frank (Broken Arrow, OK), Bonnie & Jake Norris (Hectorville, OK), and Dustin Frank (Claremore, OK) as well as his children Kyle & Abby Anderson (Iowa City, IA), Ryan Anderson (Edmond, OK), Jared & Marissa Anderson (Tulsa, OK), step daughter Shayla & Tom Sromek (Milwaukee, WI) his first wife and the mother of his children Lisa Ricks (Sand Springs, OK) and grandchildren Haley, Tyler, Gunner, Jayden, Teagan, Troy, Gentry, Hillary, Janet, Rian, Zion, Abner, and Enid as well as one great grandchild Ezra. One of his favorite verses; Titus 3:4-7
“But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
