Earl James Peavler

Earl James Peavler, a resident of Henryetta, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the age of 88. Earl was born on December 24, 1924 in Henryetta to Dath Q. Peavler and Ada Smith Peavler.
Earl grew up in Henryetta and attended schools in this area. At an early age he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps , where he served for two years. Earl was a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack. After military service he spent a brief period in Kansas and then returned home to the Henryetta area.
Earl was a farmer for most of his adult life. He loved the outdoors and was a longtime member of the Henryetta VFW.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Nancy, who died in March 2012; a son, Jim Brown; by two daughters, Lana Sue Robinson and Judy Isbill; and by eight brothers, Roy Peavler, Carl Peavler, Sam Peavler, Louis Peavler, Leland Peavler, Robert Peavler, Kenneth Peavler, and Floyd Peavler.
Earl is survived by two sons, Buddie Brown and wife Birdy of Henryetta and Roy E. Peavler and wife Judy of Henryetta; two daughters, Nancy Crawford and husband Jimmy of Oklahoma City and Jody Lynn Winn of Okmulgee; by 19 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; by 3 sisters, Lucille Johnson of Henryetta, Ardith Mae McPhearson of Checotah, and Dorothy Holly of Shawnee; by two sisters-in-law, June Hill and husband Kenneth of Wetumka, and Jeannie Lake of California; by numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends.
A memorial service for Earl will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
