Eddie D. Raley, Sr., a resident of Okmulgee was born November 22, 1934 to Isom & Florence (Cowles) Raley. He departed from this life October 17, 2010 in Okmulgee at the age of 75. He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, Earlene Randall, Betty Farrow, Fern Baker, Joyce Brown and Mary Judd. Also by two brothers, Isom Raley, Jr. and W. H. Raley. He attended rural schools around Tahlequah until joining the United States Navy in 1952 at the age of 17. He married Joyce Hendricks in 1955 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He retired from the navy in 1972 after twenty years as a Shipfitter, serving on seven ships. He retired from east Central Electric as materials accountant in 1992. After retiring his hobbies included collecting and repairing clocks, fishing, and enjoying time spent with is children and grandchildren. He was an active member of the United Pentecostal Church for 38 years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Raley of the home Daughter, Patricia Porter & husband Richard of Mbabane, Swaziland Three sons, Eddie Raley & wife Renee of Beggs Darryl Raley & wife Anita of Okmulgee Richard Raley & Tammi of Okmulgee Nine grandchildren, Adina Raley, Michelle Fugate, Misty Merriman, David Porter, Tyler Porter, Chase Raley, Alyssa Raley, Shaun Raley & Katie Raley. Ten Great Grandchildren Three sisters, Delphia Mullen of Canadian Virginia Jackson & husband Georgie of Okmulgee Jackie Cooper & husband Bud of Checotah. As well as a host of neices, nephews, cousins, and friends. Pallbearers will be, Shaun Raley, Chase Raley, Chyrston Raley, Tyler Porter, Josh Fugate, & Seth Kellogg. Honorary pallbearers will be, Ray Stacy, Bill Stacy, Olen Hurt, & M. F. Wainwright. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the United Pentecostal Church in Morris. Interment will be in Okmulgee Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
