Edna Mae Brownfield

Edna Mae Brownfield, passed away on June 19, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on July 8, 1946, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Edna dedicated her life to her family, her work, and her community.

Edna was a proud graduate of Dewar Public Schools, where she would later return to make a significant impact on the lives of countless students. As the Native American Education Coordinator for the Dewar Schools, Edna worked tirelessly to ensure that all students had access to the resources and support they needed to succeed.

A member of the First Baptist Church in Dewar, Edna's faith was a guiding force in her life.

Edna was preceded in death by her grandson, Trisdon Brownfield, her parents, Henry and Elizza (Moore) Dailey, and siblings Woody Lee, Spy Beaver, Allen Dailey, and Glenda Scott.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Fred Brownfield, of the home; two sons, Derick Brownfield of Dewar, and Dionn Brownfield & wife Claudia of Dewar; two grandchildren, Jamie Tarwater & husband Justy of Okemah, and Thomas Brownfield of Dewar; one great granddaughter, Adilynn Brownfield of Dewar; one brother, John Timothy of Muskogee; as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

Edna Mae Brownfield's life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and dedication. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those she touched, and her memory will be a guiding light for generations to come.

Viewing will be on Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 3-8 PM at Integrity Funeral Service.

Funeral Services will be at 3 PM on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Hoffman Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Brownfield, Keith Scott, Rockie Lee, Coey Vaughn, Todd Been and Howard Edmundson. Honorary pallbearers will be Justy Tarwater, Matt Payne, Shannon Dailey and Chris Dailey.

Services are under the care and direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
