Edward Leon Elmore

Edward Leon Elmore, a resident of Henryetta, passed away October 31, 2012 in Henryetta, OK at the age of 72. He was born on June 18, 1940 in Lovell, OK to Alva Gaines Elmore & Dorothy Mae (Anderson) Elmore. Leon was preceded in death by his parents. He married Carrie Joann Beeby on March 22, 1959 in Crescent, Oklahoma. He was the past president of the Creek Nation Appoloosa Horse club as well as a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Leon owned and operated Leon's DST since 1995 Leon is survived by his wife of 53 1/2 years, Carrie Joann Beeby Elmore of the home, daughter, Kathleen Jones of Rapid City, South Dakota, daughter, Debra Hefner & husband Richard of Henryetta, son, Kevin Elmore & wife Tonie of Morris, OK, sister Janice Haken & husband David Of Marshall, OK, grandchildren, Misty Flanagan & husband Paul, Jason Jones & wife Kande, Jared Jones, Kyle Hefner, Kelly Hefner, Tanna Elmore, Trevor Elmore, Krysie Elmore, Krystal Brock, and Kyle Mitts & wife Ruby, 8 great grandchildren, 4 aunts, 3 nieces, 1 nephew and numerous cousins. Pallbearers will be Jason Jones, Jared Jones, Kyle Hefner, Keith Haken, Paul Flanagan, and Jeff Jones. The family has deemed the ALS Foundation or Heartland Hospice of McAlester as appropriate for donations in honor of Leon. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 2nd, 2012 at First Christian Church, 200 East Adams Street, Crescent, Oklahoma with Pastor Mark Lemarr, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakview Cemetery in Lovell, Oklahoma under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service, Henryetta.
