Edward Andrew Williams, a resident of Weleetka, passed from this life on Monday, August 06, 2012 in Seminole, OK at the age of 87. He was born Tuesday, November 04, 1924 in Weleetka to Walter Williams & Martha (Burden) Williams. First and foremost Edward was a Christian, loving husband and father. He served in the US Navy during World War II as a gunner and a cook aboard a minesweeper in Islands in and around Japan. Ed was a Mason, a deacon in the First Christian Church and later joined the Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife Oletha Williams in 2006. Edward is survived by 2 sons, Gary Williams & wife Pam of Weleetka, and Roger Williams & wife Brenda of Council Hill, and by one daughter, Kathy Spencer & husband Glendon of Gladewater, Texas, 6 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren, two sisters, Margret Shurley of Russellville, Arkansas, and Betty Richardson of Oklahoma City, as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Family has designated that donations be made in honor of Edward to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 10:00 am at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
