Edwin "Hammer" Thomas McBee, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away at his home on Monday, March 23, 2015 in Okmulgee, OK at the age of 68. He was born September 13, 1946 in Newport, AR to Edwin Thomas Mcbee, Jr. & Bertha (Chaney). Ed served the United States during the Vietnam War in the Navy. He worked for the city of Okmulgee for many years as Chief Meter Reader and retired in 1990 due to his health. He spent many years along side his wife in the compassionate care of animal rescue in the Okmulgee and surrounding areas. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Okmulgee. He was known as "Hammer" to many people and by "PaPa" by his grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his Parents, Edwin McBee, Sr., and Bertha Chaney Harrison, brothers, Buddy McBee and George McBee, sisters, Pearl Matney, Peggy Myer, Madge Pratt, and Lucille Baird. Edwin is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debbie McBee of the home, children, Coy Maxey & Lanie of the home; Candy Grammer McBee of the home; Edwin McBee & Joy of Mullberry, Arkansas; Mary Maxey & Brinnan of Morris; Tina Todd & Barry of Perkinston, Mississippi; Edania Punkin Fisher & Brant of Kusa, Oklahoma; and Danny McBee & Hannah of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, Mylie, Michael, Kayla, Tyler, Aaliyah, Braedon, Cathy, Hope, Miranda, Barry, Cheyenne, Elizabeth, and Jason, Sister, Martha Howell & Boyd of Okmulgee; Rudy McBee of Morris; Johnny McBee & Mary of DeKalb, Texas; Madeline McCoy of Kalamazoo, Michigan; 16 great grandchildren, and 2 special grandchildren, Jenny Sadler, and James Kirby, his special pets, Munchie (his dog), and Popeye (his parrot) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 2-8pm on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Integrity Funeral Service. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00pm, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Faith Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Brother Everett Lerch and Brother Bill Huddard, officiating. Interment will follow at Salt Creek Cemetery in the Wilson Community, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta. Pallbearers will be James Graham, William Page, Coy Maxey, James Kirby, Jason Boss, Jr., and Collin Mooney.
