Eliza Mae Hicks, a longtime resident of rural Henryetta died August 3, 2009 in Tulsa at the age of 83. Mrs. Hicks was born May 30, 1926 in Oklahoma to John Freeman & Ethel Harjo Freeman. She retired from Tinker Air Force Base as a secretary in 1973 after several years. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Houston Hicks of the home 4 children: Angela Chavez of Broken Arrow Robert Hicks & wife Sarah of Ryal Carol Muniz & husband Thomas of Glenpool Louis Hicks & wife Gloria of Okmulgee A daughter-in-law, Linda Jean Hicks of Salem 17 grandchildren & 20 great grandchildren 2 brothers, Ruben Freeman of Sand Springs Isparhetce "Spy" Freeman of Claremore a host of friends and other relatives. She is preceded in death by 2 sons: Tim Hicks & James (Jim) Bailey Hicks, 3 brothers, Jess Freeman, Andrew Freeman, & John Freeman, Jr. 4 sisters, Annie Williams, Louise Cox, Ida Sparks, & Jody Stand. Viewing will begin Wednesday, August 5 at Integrity Funeral Service until 3:30 p.m., Thursday. Mrs. Hicks will be taken to the Newtown Methodist Church in Okmulgee at 4:00 p.m., Thursday for a Wake Service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be: Buddy Hicks, Jason Hicks, Chris Muniz, Joe Hicks, Jeremiah Hicks, & Jared Hicks. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Justin Hicks, Billy Beets, Ruben Freeman, Jr., Gary Hicks, & Johnny Hicks. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2009 at Newtown Methodist Church in Okmulgee with Rev. Pat Freeman & Rev. David Dunson, officiating. Interment will be in New Sonora Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service, 410 East Trudgeon, Henryetta, Oklahoma.
