Elizabeth Ann Baker, a kind, friendly, and faith-filled woman, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on October 17, 1933, in Vigo County, Indiana, Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of Charles Russell and Amelia (Krencewicz) Baker. She was 89 years old at the time of her passing.
Elizabeth was a proud graduate of Saint Michael's High School in Henryetta, Oklahoma, and continued her education at the University of Tulsa, where she studied accounting. Her strong faith and love for music led her to become an active parishioner of Holy Family Cathedral in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Elizabeth shared her beautiful voice with the community as a member of the choir for many years.
Throughout her life, Elizabeth was surrounded by a loving family. She is survived by her brother, Norman Baker of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; sister, Norma Collins of Decatur, Illinois; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews in Oklahoma and Illinois. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew Baker, and her parents, Charles and Amelia.
In her free time, Elizabeth enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, cherishing the company and companionship of her beloved dogs, Happy, Honey, and Taffy. Her gentle nature and love for animals were evident in the special bond she shared with her pets throughout her life.
Those who knew Elizabeth would often describe her as a kind and friendly soul, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a warm smile to brighten someone's day. Her faith played a significant role in her life, guiding her actions and providing a strong foundation for her relationships with others.
Viewing for Elizabeth will be on Saturday, April 29, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM at Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Henryetta, Oklahoma.
Elizabeth's family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and legacy at Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Henryetta, Oklahoma on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Father Ken Harder officiating. Burial will follow the service at Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Elizabeth's memory to a local animal shelter or rescue organization, as a tribute to her love for her cherished pets.
Elizabeth Ann Baker's life was a testament to the power of kindness, friendship, and faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
