Ella Lee Durbin, 90, longtime resident of the Dewar Community, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, in Henryetta, Oklahoma. She was born on October 24, 1931 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Blonnie (Cox) and George Lester Buchanan.
She married Norman Durbin on May 14, 1949 in Arkansas and they made their home in Dewar. Ella worked as a social worker and activities director for Fountain View Manor Nursing Home in Henryetta for over twenty years and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta where she was involved in many activities. Ella was also a member of Rebeckas and Bunko-Ladies. She enjoyed family gatherings and loved traveling and going to Branson every year for many years. She enjoyed taking rides on the pontoon boat, riding on the motorcycle on cruise night, playing Bunko and being with her Bunko friends, but most of all, she loved her family, friends and church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Bill, John, and James; sisters, Enda-Mae and Dorothy.
Ella is survived by her children, James Durbin and wife Carol, Tiger Mountain, Bill Durbin and wife Linda, Moore, Oklahoma, Linda Hulse and husband Earl, Wilson Community, and John Durbin and wife Mary of Dewar, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Brandon Durbin, Melissa Durbin, Billy Durbin and wife Tamara, Brad Durbin, Jonathan Barnett, Chris Durbin and wife Jenny and Michael Durbin; Great-Grandchildren, Dylan Durbin, Dakota Durbin, Billy Durbin, Leah Durbin, Daphne Durbin, Checotah Durbin, Hayden Durbin, Christopher Durbin, Makenzie Durbin, Conner Durbin and Makayla Durbin and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Viewing for Ella will be on Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 3:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the First Church of the Nazarene in Henryetta, Oklahoma with Reverend Tim Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Henryetta, Oklahoma.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
