Emmit Ezel Grist

Emmit Ezel Grist, a resident of Henryetta, died Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in Tulsa at the age of 85. He was born April 14, 1926 in Weleetka, Oklahoma to Emit Grist and Ida (Thompson) Grist. Emmit married the love of his life, Altie Williams on January 02, 1952 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Ezel worked for the city of Henryetta for over 30 years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emit and Ida Grist, brothers, Clyde Grist, and Andrew Grist, sisters, Ollie Ingram, Opal Devore, and Julie Counts. He is survived by his wife Altie Grist of the home; sons, Everett Grist & wife Teresa of Wilson; and Darrell Grist & wife Kristina of Wilson; daughters, Glenda Tedlock & husband Jeff of Schulter; Joyce Heminover & husband Ray of Henryetta; Michelle Hawkins & husband Stan of Schulter; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Brett Grist, Bart Grist, Michael Heminover, John Zerilli, Scott Silkwood, and Eric McNac. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Dewar First Baptist Church with Brother John Riggs, officiating and Ron Hunter assisting. Interment will be in Dustin Cemetery in Dustin under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
