Emmitt Dale Bible, 63, passed away on July 28, 2024, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was born on November 4, 1960, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Burtis and Norma Jean (Sampson) Bible.
He pursued his education at Sequoyah schools near Tahlequah and proudly graduated from Sequoyah High School. Emmitt was a dedicated maintenance worker who served the Creek Nation and the Osage Casino with diligence and commitment. Emmitt found solace in playing basketball, pool, and pitching horseshoes. He cherished moments spent with his family and was an avid OU football fan. Emmitt loved to listen to music and enjoyed music by Bob Marley.
Emmitt was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sisters Belinda Bible and Gena Wesley, and brothers Monty Bass and Randy Bible.
He is survived by his loving children: Christopher Stevens of McLoud, Oklahoma; Cody Bible and wife Heather of Tuscon, Arizona and Jessica Bible Wills of Shawnee, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his siblings: Norman Daniel and wife Cindy of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Sam Bass of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Joseph Bass and wife Delane of St. Louis, Missouri; Teresa Bible of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Alexis Crosley of Bristow, Oklahoma and Ruth Ingram of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Additionally, he leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Sadera, Colton, Silas, River, Kansas, and Chevelle. Emmitt will be dearly missed by numerous other relatives and friends.
Viewing for Emmitt will be on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 4:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Integrity Funeral Service, 410 East Trudgeon Street, Henryetta, Oklahoma 74437.
Mr. Bible will be taken to the Grave Creek Indian Baptist Church in Hitchita, Oklahoma at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 2, 2024 and the family will be serving lunch at the church from 11:30 AM till 1:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Grave Creek Indian Baptist Church in Hitchita, Oklahoma with Reverend Norman Daniel officiating. Burial will follow the service at Grave Creek Indian Baptist Church Cemetery in Hitchita, Oklahoma.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jed Kitchkommie, James Whitecloud, Eddie Lowe, Edwin Thorpe, Willard Cavanaugh and Dason Bible. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Bible, Jarrett Thorpe, Leo Wesley and Leo Monteros.
