Etta Vanita Self

Etta Vanita Self, homemaker of Ada, Oklahoma, was born on September 16, 1921 in Hitchita, OK to Lester Duncan Castleberry and Alma Gertrude "Gertie" Ktichen Castleberry. She died on August 3, 2014 in Ada, OK at the age of 92. Vanita married Elmer Eugene Self on August 29, 1938 in Dewar, OK. They were married for 58 years. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1997. Vanita was also preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Gertie Castleberry; by three sisters, Catherine Lewellen, Betty Kelough, and Dora Mae Kaler; and by one brother, Charles Castleberry. She is survived by two sons, Bill Self, Sr. and wife Margaret of Edmond, OK and Gary Self and wife Linda of Ada, OK; one sister, Cora Rae Davis of Haskell, OK; four grandchildren, Bill Self, Jr. and wife Cindy of Lawrence, KS, Shelly Anderson of Edmond, OK, Becky Anoatubby and husband Chris of Ada, OK, and Andi Self Poulin of Ada, OK; nine great grandchildren, Taylor and Morgan Anderson of Edmond, OK, Lauren Self of Dallas, TX, Tyler Self of Lawrence, KS, Brendon, Eryn and Sydney Anoatubby of Ada, OK, and Jayme and Lynzie Poulin of Ada, OK; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family relatives, and many good friends. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta, OK with interment following the service at Lackey Cemetery in Hitchita, OK. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th at Integrity Funeral Service. The family will greet guests from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday evening.
