Frank L. Jones

Frank L. Jones, a longtime resident of Porum, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in Muskogee at the age of 73. Frank was born on November 19, 1940 in Porum to Frank Pierce Jones and Sarah Imal Laffery. Frank grew up in the Porum area where he attended school. After living for several years in New Mexico, Frank returned to the Porum area as a teenager. Frank served the Wagoner and Vian communities as a police officer, before retiring after approximately 10 years of service. Frank loved horses and especially loved trail riding. He was an avid outdoorsman and was an accomplished hunter and fisherman. Frank was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother, William Coy Jones; a sister, Louise Madsen; a sister Betty Jones and wife, Billie Jean Hamilton. Also by one infant grandson & infant granddaughter. He is survived by three children, Frank L. Jones, Jr. and wife Vada of Porum, Mary Whitlow and husband Don of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Frank Pierce "Pete" Jones of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren, Justin Whitlow & wife Julie of Albuquerque, Joshua Whitlow of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Alana Jones of California; 2 great grandchildren, Avery Whitlow and Wyatt Whitlow; one brother, Ray Jones of Porum; three sisters, Virginia Barton of Henryetta, Yvonne McLaughlin of Henryetta, and Imogene Whitlock and husband Steve of Okmulgee; a brother-in-law, Gerald Madsen of Warner, OK; by numerous other extended family and many good friends. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta./
