Mr. Franklin James Thompson, 74 a resident of Checotah, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Mr. Thompson was born May 28th, 1946 to Clinton James and Cora Mae (Roberts) Thompson in Hoffman, Oklahoma.

Franklin "Frank" James Thompson was born May 28th 1946 in Hoffman, Oklahoma. When he was young he enjoyed spending time with his siblings and his grandparents, growing and selling watermelons with his grandpa.

Frank served in Vietnam where he received a purple heart. After Vietnam he came home and done some traveling before settling down in Tulsa where he started a job as an exterminator. He went on to start his own business as an exterminator that he had for several years. He went out on pipeline where he worked the x-ray dark room for a few years. He came home from that and started another business of his own doing floor repair.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the lake fishing and hanging out on his houseboat. He was always ready to play a good game of poker. He was the life of the party where most of the time he had Hank Williams Jr playing one of his favorites being "if you don't like Hank Williams you can kiss my a** " . He loved having a garden and growing tomatoes. He loved his boats and his cars especially his corvettes he had through the years. If he was at home he was watching his westerns and smoking his cigarettes. He loved his family and loved to tell stories about Cody and Char when they were little. He never met a stranger and was loved by many. He will be missed dearly.


Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter: Jessi Haworth, brother "Bill" Thompson and sisters Linda Grogan and Jill Thrailkill.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife: Annette, of the home, children: Cody Thompson & wife Karen of Checotah; Char Lawson & husband Don of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Tina Haworth & husband Billy of Braggs, Oklahoma; Julie Gocke & husband Justin of Neosho, Missouri; Katrina Ballard of Neosho, Missouri; grandchildren Nathan Thompson, Justin Haworth, April Gocke, Dalton Gocke; sisters: Emma Thompson, Joyce McCloud, Rita Blake, brother, Tom Thompson an a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Viewing and visitation will be Friday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Integrity Chapel with services to be at 2:00pm Saturday at Integrity Chapel. Interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
