Fred Leroy Chastain

Fred Leroy Chastain, a resident of rural Henryetta, passed away Thursday, April 18th, 2013 at the age 86. He was born September 9th, 1926 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Everette and Pearl (Webb) Chastain. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the United States Army. He married Gladys Holt July 14, 1948 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Fred worked for many years at Eagle-Picher and later retired from Morris School System in 1987. He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, four brothers and an infant son. Fred is survived by his wife of sixty four years, Gladys Chastain of the home; One son, Freddie Chastain of Henryetta; Three daughters, Joyce Maylen & husband Larry of Henryetta; Peggy Hampton & husband Hansel of Eufaula; Julie Green & husband Bret of Oklahoma City; Eight Grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; As well as several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives Pallbearers will be, Michael Ring, Erick Ring, Gabe Green, Zach Green, Michael Reagan, Robert Tamplen, Billy Joe Umsted, Blake Frye, and Leon Elzy. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Morris with Rev. Ray Moffeit, officiating. Interment will be in Morris Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
