Futrella Irene Griffin

Irene Griffin Irene Griffin, 86 of Henryetta died, Friday, May 15, 2009 in West Monroe, Louisiana. Irene was born January 1, 1923 to Solomon E. Long, Sr. and Alma Parker Long. Along with her husband Rev. J. Mike Griffin, they pastored United Pentecostal Churches in Davis, Oklahoma, Duncan, Oklahoma and Oak Grove, Louisiana. Irene was past president of the Oklahoma District Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Dewar United Pentecostal Church for many years. Irene is preceded in death by her husband Rev. J. Mike Griffin and one daughter Linda K. Pulliam. Also preceding her in death are two sisters, Opal Weidner, Ila Mae Thompson as well as one brother S. E. Long, Jr. She is survived by two brothers: Roy Long & wife Laura of Temple, Texas Norwood Long of DeQuincy, Louisiana Two sisters: Ellen Chance and husband Rev. Glen Chance of Monroe, Louisiana Sue Burr & husband Medford of Mansfield, Louisiana Also one son-in-law, Jim Pulliam of Dewar, Oklahoma As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and her beloved church family. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2009. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at the Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin & Rev. Glen Chance, officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. Services are under direction of Integrity Funeral Service, 410 E. Trudgeon, Henryetta, Oklahoma.
