Galen Duane Forney

Galen Duane Forney, a former resident of Henryetta and recent resident of Okemah, Oklahoma passed from this life on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in Okemah at the age of 79. Galen was born on July 3, 1936 in Topeka, Kansas to James Benjamin Forney and Oletha Marguerite Sanders Forney. In 1954, at an early age, Galen moved to Enid, Oklahoma. He remained in Enid before moving to Henryetta where he lived for several years. Although Galen long endured several developmental disabilities for most of his life, he was loved and cherished by his family and he will remain a blessing to them. Galen was preceded in death by his mother and his father. He is survived by his three sisters, Doris Cusic of Dallas, Texas, Wendelene Skaggs of Oklahoma City, and by Beverly Whorton and husband Bill of Austin, Texas; by numerous nieces and nephews; and by a loving group of friends in Okemah, Oklahoma where he lived. A graveside funeral service for Galen will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:00pm at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Interment will be under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
