Gordon Eugene Hill

August 27, 1960 — September 21, 2021

Gordon Eugene Hill, Sr., in his 61st year made his transition from Labor to Rest on Tuesday,
September 21, 2021, in Okmulgee. He died peacefully at Muscogee Creek Nation Hospital
surrounded by family and friends. Gordon, Sr. was born on August 27, 1960, in Okmulgee to
Donzel “Doc” Hill, Jr., and Rebecca “Becky” (Richardson) Hill. He was a member of the True Vine Baptist Church in Okmulgee until his health began to fail. He attended Okmulgee Public Schools,
graduating with the Class of 1978. He immediately entered the United States Marine Corps on
June 7, 1978, where he honorably served his country earning the rank of Corporal. Gordon
received the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Meritorious
Mast, 3 Letters of Appreciation, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, and the Good Conduct
Medal. His experiences in the Marines played a very important role in his life. He often spoke of his travels and comrades that he was fortunate to meet. After military duty, Gordon Sr. returned to the Okmulgee area where he worked until retirement at Memorex Telex. He was also
employed at WSI and later Coca Cola.

On September 14, 1985, he married Sharron Murdock Barnes and to this union they raised three sons: Gordon Jr., Corey Hill, and stepson Brandon DeVille. Gordon Sr. enjoyed fishing, camping
and spending time with family. He loved and cherished his children and grandchildren. The
family wishes to send a warm thank you to Samuel Lovett, Stanley Reason and Hollis Tuggle, Jr.
for the quality and quantity of time they spent checking on him daily. Gordon often spoke about the joy of attending the Thunder games in Oklahoma City with Samuel and his family. Later in
life, Gordon Sr. met and married Rita Wilson. There were no children born to this marriage, but he enjoyed time with his stepsons Michael and Jeremy Foster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rebecca and Donzel Hill, Jr.; maternal grandparents Helen and James Richardson; paternal grandparents Flora and Donzel Hill, Sr.; uncles Leonard
Richardson, Oscar Hill, Charles, and Harold Hill; aunts Mae Ella, Lillie, Leona, Elizabeth, Floretha, Nathious, Bernice and Alberta; sister Patricia Hill; brother Donnie Hill; and nephew Gary Wayne Hill, II.

Survivors include sons and stepsons Gordon Eugene Hill, Jr. (Danielle), Corey Hill (Donnica),
Brandon DeVille (Kelly), Michael Foster and Jeremy Foster all of Okmulgee. Grandchildren Kobe and Jordon Hill; Brayden, Kierra, Braylie and Kyra DeVille; Jamia and Taivian Foster; seven
brothers Steve (Lisa), Gary (Viola) and Donzel all of Okmulgee; Dwayne (Tonia) of Mounds;
Boswell (Tracy) of Dallas, Tx; Darren and Michael of Oklahoma City; five sisters Sharon Hawkins
and Lorraine Hill both of Okmulgee; Teresa, Debra and Janice all of Oklahoma City; two uncles James Richardson, Jr. of Oklahoma City and Lonell Richardson of Los Angeles, CA; one aunt,
Myrtle Powell of Okmulgee; a special cousin Don Edward of Okmulgee, along with a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Viewing and visitation for Gordon is scheduled for 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Friday, October 1st, 2021, at Eastside Baptist Church, 217 N. Osage Ave, Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 2nd, 2021, at Eastside Baptist Church in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Reverend Marcus Jeffery will be officiating, Reverend McKinley Rice will deliver the Eulogy and Reverend Greg Richardson will be delivering the scripture reading. Serving as Casket Bearers will be Edward Grant, Robert Tunley, Samuel Lovett, Stanley Reason, Hollis Tuggle, Jr., Glenn Todd and Lonnell Fultz. Flower Bearers will be Carol Sue Woodruff, Maria Toney, Desiree Toney and Princess Hill Rockmore.

Interment is scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, October 4th, 2021, at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.

Arrangements and services are under the direction of the Integrity Funeral Service, 410 East Trudgeon in Henryetta, Oklahoma.
