Gordon Fola Smith

Gordon Fola Smith, a lifelong resident of the Henryetta area, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at his home in rural Henryetta at the age of 95. He was born December 25, 1914 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Fola Smith and Corda (Summers) Smith. Gordon married the love of his life Mary Elizabeth Gage on September 11, 1945 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Fishing and hunting were Gordon's passion as he was a member of Ducks unlimited as well as the NRA. Gordon was a member of the Church of Christ in Henryetta, he served on the Board at First National Bank and was a member of the AOPA, SPA, Henryetta Historical Society The UAW Pipefitters Union of Chicago and was proud to be an honorary member of the Oklahoma Sherriff's Association. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Smith of the home, one daughter, Ann Elizabeth Smith of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, four grandchildren, Miranda Schick & husband Andy or Aurora, Colorado, Cameron Smith & wife Rochelle of Kalispell, Montana, Rose Smith of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Samantha Smith of Broken Arrow, his daughter in law, Marni Smith of Broken Arrow, his cousin, Pat Spears of Colorado Springs, Colorado, nieces, nephews and many friends. Pallbearers will be Donnie Stidman, Cameron Smith, Andy Schick, Steve Hansen, Jason Stidman, And Ken Baldwin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Wadley, Keith Estes, and Clyde Estes. Family deemed it appropriate for donations to be made to the American Heart Association in honor of Gordon in lieu of flowers. The family wants to extend a special thank you to Nurses To Go for their kind and compassionate care. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Henryetta Church of Christ with Gary Lovell and Larry Jozwiak, officiating. Interment will be in Westlawn Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
